The Counseling Center at
St. John's exists to assist God's people in finding peace for their soul.
This is accomplished primarily through a seven step ministry known as
The 7 Steps to Cure the Soul. It seems that there are more and more
unhappy and disappointed people in the world than there used to be. Why is
it that there are more people who are sad, depressed, alcoholic, drug
dependent, and institutionalized than ever before? This unfortunately is
the case in spite of the fact there are over a million trained
professional psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors,
marriage and family therapists, psychoanalysts, psychotherapists, and
psychiatric nurses practicing in the United States alone. In addition, for
every condition there is a psychotropic or psychiatric medication to treat
it. There are also people who wouldn't say they are actually sad or
depressed. They just know their life has no meaning. They wonder often, if
not constantly, "Why am I here?" "What is my life supposed to be about?"
"What is my purpose?" What if we consider for just a moment the
possibility that the root cause of the problems are not medical or
psychological but spiritual. The Seven Steps to Cure the Soul is a
pastoral counseling ministry that seeks to provide a clear plan that will
help you eliminate fear, depression, anxiety, confusion, and worry from
your life. Does it sound "too good to be true"? It's not. You can find
purpose and wonderful meaning to your life. When the soul receives
salvation and healing from God our Father and Creator of all things, the
outcome is a life of peace, joy, and fellowship with God. This seven step
